The Problem
The Arctic is one of the most affected areas of the planet by climate change. In fact, the accelerated melting of the Arctic
ice cap is one of the most visible consequences of global warming that has endangered species of large mammals in the area.
In the photos to your right you can see the dramatic evolution
of the annual minimum in summer of the frozen Arctic
ice cap, from 1980 to 2007. The reaction of man at the moment, instead of curbing global warming, has been accelerating the extraction plans fpr oil and gas that are now accessible below Artic subsoil.
